Continuation of ISSUE #5, “Some Good News Indeed.”
What are neighbors? Are they those who merely live in proximity? Or are they, according to Jesus and the Scriptures, fellow human beings we’re to love as ourselves?
Are they strangers or casual acquaintances? Are they people we can rightly ignore or are they people we should be considerate of?
Are they people who agree with us theologically, politically, religiously, racially, philosophically, or otherwise?
Or are they people as described in the parable Jesus spoke that we call, “The Good Samaritan”?
Today, as planned and promised, at long last, I need to continue with what I said to Angela Suntjens of Moon River Estates in the latter portion of ISSUE #5 posted in June of 2024.
Since that time, I had hoped Angela would come forth with honesty and additional candid conversation so that the Lord might show His potential Mercy and Glory, and that we might enjoy good things happening for her and her husband. I’m sorry to say it hasn’t happened.
I will tell our story, some of which is from years ago. The purpose of this paper (ISSUE #18 on Suntjens) is to point out to the community what happens to people who oppose the Lord and act contrary to His ways and Law. The consequences are there as I’ve declared. Why do I want the community to know? So that perchance they will consider that there is cause to hear what I have to say and conduct themselves profitably for their sakes.
At the 2024 AGM (community annual general meeting), Jayne Bury nominated Rebecca Foss, a newcomer to Moon River, to replace Angela Suntjens. Angela had been on the executive as vice president for a year without any eventful executive activity. Her unseating was quite unexpected.
“God moves in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform.” It was an act of God, no matter the intentions of the parties involved.
Immediately after the meeting, Angela came to me. I related in ISSUE #5 what was discussed between us at that time. Since then, I have been hoping for further discussion with her. It’s now several months and I’ve not heard from her. But I’ve had the time to consider things and suspect that I’ve misinterpreted where Angela was coming from in her admission of guilt to me that day.
You see, there are 2 kinds of “changes of heart.” One is a genuine recognition of wrong done and the desire to change for the better and to make things right. Usually, this entails confession of wrong, apology, correction, restitution made where possible, and a continuing, consistent change of attitude and conduct in the “new life.”
The other kind is where one may temporarily admit guilt and apologize just to escape consequences. I’m afraid we’re talking about this second “repentance.” Why? I haven’t heard from Angela since, she’s had the opportunity to get honest and change matters between us, and she hasn’t done so.
Angela, I believe you may have come to me after being unseated from the executive because you were recognizing that what was happening to you was a result of your wrongdoing. I believe you were under conviction of sin.
Why were you coming to that conclusion? Things weren’t going well for you since you came to my door bellowing after I had tried reasoning with you by letter about your “eyesore” property. At that time, I could hardly have gotten any nicer with you while discussing an obvious problem concerning us and the community. I could have avoided the negative expressions but I believe the Truth needs to be spoken with balance.
There is no electrical power without the negative charge, right? But the whole Truth does not sit well in our “progressive” culture permeating all aspects of society. Those brainsoiled by humanistic, anti-Judeo-Christian instruction are loath to hear or see any negative finger pointed their way. They can’t handle the Truth. I take it you’ve been raised and conditioned, as are many in such an unfortunate environment.
Why else would you have shouted at me on my doorstep and said, “You’re old enough. You should know better!”
It happens that I am older and do know better, and you, Angela, need to grow up and wiser. Why hasn’t the fact occurred to you that you’re the one who needs to know better? Not that age is any guarantee of understanding. “A hoary head is a crown of glory IF it be found in the way of understanding.” The world is filled with old fools.
Just so the community is aware of the facts and truth, I include my letter to you that provoked your ire and set the course for conflict between us:
The day came when you notified me you were applying to the MD of Willow Creek for permission to build a workshop for your welding business on your lot.
Though I was fairly certain the MD wouldn’t permit it if I objected, I let it happen. Why? Not sure. I was thinking that if your other neighbors had a problem with it, I’d let them do the complaining. Why should I always be the one to strive with neighbors, even if reasonably and legally so?
Here’s Angela’s letter to us asking for our support in her building project:

Afternoon Victor,
I hope the day is treating you well. I am emailing you update you on some changes next door and to humbly ask for your support. We will be pulling the train container out this week and we have applied for a permit to build a small garage on our property and so far all is well and we are in the final stages; so far so good, barring any objections from neighbors.
This change will offer me a safer, quieter, cleaner and healthier space to try and help support my family. I have found I am often quite anxious I am disturbing you since your visit, especially if I have work to do on Saturday (and I know you did specify it wasn’t to upset me but I would be lying if I said I didn’t develop some anxiety over it which is honestly silly of me because lawnmowers make the same noise my generator does but it is what it is). The benefit of the shop is that it should be much more soundproof, Ive also spent the money to get a small professional interior ventilation system that should also help mitigate that. The new garage will be farther from your property, insulated, and wired which will remove the need for my generator.
I would greatly appreciate your neighbourly support and if there are any problems, you know me, I am always more than willing to try and work with you.
Angela 🙂
[END]
Wow, just how was I to know she was always so willing to work with me? I’d find out.

Hi Angela,
Marilyn and I never did have a problem with your generator working, whether on Saturday or any other. I visited that one time only about one Saturday when we were expecting company, but only that day, not any other. Even then, it wouldn’t have been a big deal if you couldn’t accommodate us.
Of course, I would prefer we had a quiet Saturday, which is our Sabbath, when sitting outside, visiting, dining, sunning, etc., but we’re not troubled about it.
Lawnmowers are much noisier than your generator and we’re surrounded by them, aren’t we?
Seeing your garage will be an improvement for you and us from your present setup, mitigating noise and enhancing aesthetics, we’re in agreement. No worries.
I only hope my singing outside isn’t disturbing to you! 😊 I like the air and sunshine when practicing.
Perhaps you’re discussing this with your close neighbors Paul and Yvonne, as well? I’m sure they won’t mind.
Now that you’ve introduced an opportunity to discuss these sorts of things, I’ll tell you what concerns me some. It would be wonderful if you were to take advantage of the special potential your home has to be a veritable gem in Moon River, what with the unique house style, rolling topography, corner lot, setting, and significant investment in matured trees and shrubs. Huge potential for a dream property!
I sadly see an eyesore and a lot of value perishing right before our eyes. Know it or not, I’ve trained my water system on your property to help you in that regard on our border. Of course, I water for our benefit as well to enjoy healthier, more vibrant foliage on our borders.
I would LIKE to see your entire yard greatly enhanced because it can stand a significant improvement. I’m sure you’ll agree. What price beauty and aesthetics? Great spiritual and overall value in general health and well-being. Measured by money? Not at all. But acknowledged, it does take the dollars to do it, for sure. We wish you well in all this.
Thanks for your concern, Angela. I see you doing some cool work as an artisan. Marilyn and I have appreciated it.
Victor
END OF LETTER OF PROVOCATION
Within the hour of sending that email, Angela was on my doorstep.
Angela, you were livid, as a mother bear with cubs under threat. But I invited you into the house to talk, you refused to come in, and demanded I step outside my house and apologize to you for things I’d said. I refused to be bullied and chose to try and reason with you through the doorway.
You weren’t willing to discuss anything civilly and wouldn’t let me speak a word. Finally, I lost it with you and demanded that you leave our property. You even had the gall in your trespass to stick your phone in my face on my deck to video my angry reaction, as though I was guilty as sin and a threat to you. Who wouldn’t be angry with you?
As you were leaving in the driveway, you shouted, “And oh, by the way, God loves me!” (some such words)
Jimmy had his input as well, shouting at me, “You’re going to Hell!”
I wondered where those parting words came from, seeing there wasn’t a word spoken of God or spiritual/religious doctrine of any kind, not even a hint, not in this “conversation” or any other. Had you been keeping in mind my declaration to you years before that I was a man of God when you had asked me what I did?
So, tell me, Angela and Jimmy, how have you fared since that time? You decided to replace your roof. The entire roof was stripped all at once. Jimmy and his helper didn’t know what they were doing. Just at that time came a downpour such as I’ve rarely if ever seen in my 42 years in southern Alberta, coordinated with your house being without a roof, totally exposed. Tell me what the chances are of that. You told me your house was soaked through and through (or some such similar words). How has that water affected your house? What can you do about that?
So, you think God loves you, do you, Angela? And who told you that? Some false gospeler, perhaps? The Bible is explicit that there are those He loves and those He hates, Jacob and Esau for one example. Was that God’s love opening the heavens and pouring out a blessing you couldn’t contain, or was it His Wrath on you for cursing me as “the Devil”?
And what happened to Jimmy during this time? Who “went to Hell,” Jimmy? I’m told you broke your ankle working on the roof. We’re also told that God wouldn’t permit the surgeons to reset your broken bone(s) properly. It’s God Who determines all these things, don’t you know?
So, a broken leg, a stall on the roofing, diminished ability to work, medical complications, and so on. A bit inconvenient and discomforting, I’d say, wouldn’t you?
What’s Hell like? Have you not had enough? We’ve only seen the surface from a distance with barely any lines of communication. What makes up the submerged portion of the iceberg? I know it ain’t good.
It seems that perhaps you were “getting the message,” Angela, and when you were dismissed from the executive, you were getting “more message” and in distress, you came to me and “did the right thing” that you knew you should. I’m speculating here a bit, obviously, and if I’m wrong, you can correct me.
Only you better not try your former methods of doing so, or I’m liable to call the police on you this time. But I don’t believe I need to do that. I have the Judge of all things presiding over it. He has proven Himself Faithful, Just, and True all my life. No policeman can do what He can do to make things right, we all should know. Policemen are also in His hands to do His bidding.
You called the police on me, and for what? You admitted at the meeting that there was no reason for it. You also admitted that indeed, I could have justly called the police on you and didn’t. Corporal Kasperski came at your request, obligated to do his duty but found there was no good reason for it.
I find it so remarkable that within 2 weeks or so, Betty Benson also called the RCMP – 2 neighbors next door to us (“Surely the problem must have been with Victor,” right? And it was, but not as one might surmise). Corporal Kasperski had his day of service to two fearful women who had no cause to call, knew nothing, and understood even less.
Again, while Betty Benson called the police on me for no good cause, I could have reported Dell for threatening us. It’s on public record. How stupid and ignorant is making a public threat for all to witness? And what? You people are all going to Heaven when you die and Victor’s going to Hell? And for what? Trying to help both of you?
I’ve dealt publicly with the Bensons and I’m dealing with you now, Angela. I’m serving the Lord Jesus Christ and His Will and Law as His unworthy, but appointed servant. I’m speaking the Truth and you are speaking lies against me and abusing me. As Jesus said, “Whatever you do to the least of My brothers, you do to Me.”
Also, I’m not so naïve to think others haven’t sided with you people. My lot has been to have many enemies and I’m good with that. Jesus has promised such opposition and contradiction as we follow Him and do His bidding.
The Scriptures declare that “all those who live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.” So, you “Christians” out there – are you suffering persecution? Could it be you’re not living the godly lives you presume to live? Do people hate you for faithfully dressing up and “going to church” regularly and giving God lip service like good boys and girls? What other explanation is there for the harmony you experience with the world, according to the wording of that Scripture?
So, who’s in Heaven and who’s in Hell, people? Dare you to get honest and tell me? Your only hope is to tell the truth. There’s no other option for you.
Yes, the Lord does have my back, and that’s because “I have His Front.”
So, what other features of Hell are you two enjoying? At the 2022 AGM meeting, you and Jimmy attended. We sat at the front across the room from each other. Both of you occasionally stared at me with steady, dazed gazes for several seconds at a time. What’s going on? Where have we seen that before?
That was the day you volunteered to be on the executive again. The community accepted your offer. “Again,” I say because you had been president of the MRA. This was years ago when you first moved to Moon River. You quit after a short stint. I don’t know what reason you gave, possibly health-related. You’ve not been well all these years, have you, Angela? Whatever the reason, you quit.
I never did agree with your being on the executive. I didn’t believe you were a proper representation to the public and especially to the M.D. for Moon River, not that you’re worse than some others who have sullied this community over the decades according to my experience as somewhat mentioned in ISSUE #7, Historical Challenges at Moon River Estates.
There’s a problem with this community, likely a common one with similar communities. Moon River has a challenging time getting competent people on its executive boards. Why is that?
One, it’s voluntary, so, no pay – which can be good or bad, depending.
Two, it can be a thankless job, and often is. Only a minority of citizens may truly appreciate the volunteer executives’ work even when they work hard and do well. And let them mess up and it’s a hard road to receive community patience, understanding, and forgiveness.
Three, Moon River has had some bizarre societal idiosyncrasies and has been a pain to the M.D. in the past, partially because it’s a “city-slicker” hamlet in an agricultural setting and thus tends to have unsatisfactory expectations from the M.D. and others.
Four, it seems to attract some people who think rather highly of themselves, love the thought of some imaginary status (hence, horse paddocks, for example), look for speculative real estate profits, and get disappointed when things don’t quite go their way. Moon River has been a white elephant development from its beginnings. So, the residents’ attitudes taint their community. It ain’t easy for executives.
So, when naïve newcomers come in, like Victor Hafichuk (been there and have stories to tell going back to the 80s), Betty Benson, Angela Suntjens, and others, the community nominates and elects them. Flattered or not to be chosen, they experience the problems of the community and its expectations of them, the challenge of politics, and find out soon enough that the job calls for work, dedication, capability, competence, decent public relations, and… God forbid, sacrifice.
Tall order? Only a few are made for it. For the most part, people prefer to live their lives apart. They have enough problems and challenges in their own lives to deal with. What do they get for serving a community “for nothing” anyway? Most people are selfish, “too busy,” and insular. It’s the reality and human nature. People don’t realize that true reward comes not from serving themselves but from serving others, regardless of, and mostly without, pay.
Desperate, with nobody wanting the job, Moon River residents as beggars can’t be choosers. They’re prepared to take anyone but what they need to do is call for qualifications and worthiness to responsibly rule a hamlet. Anything else is sure to lead to difficulties. I’ve seen it. Yes, it happens everywhere, but if I can help it, it’s not going to happen here. Others should be of the same mind. The problem is, they’re not.
Angela, you’ve volunteered to be on the board but are you qualified? What makes you so presumptuous? Let me tell you that you have disqualified yourself on many fronts.
One, you can’t control yourself. If you can’t do that, how can you ever serve selflessly? You come storming to my house without cause or notice, illegally, unreasonably, even outrageously, and then expect to be an executive representing my interests or anyone else’s? I don’t think so.
Two, you’ve already volunteered once, were accepted, as president, no less, and you quit.
Three, you “donated” the Chubb, a fire wagon to the community, compliments of your father, I’m told. The community gladly accepted the thoughtful and potentially very useful gift, and volunteers such as Paul Graf, Les Hilliard, professionals in fire fighting, and others began to prepare this water wagon for service. Donations were collected from the community to pay for the expenses. Marilyn and I sold Harvest Haven strawberries and donated the profits to the project, which we thought belonged to Moon River at this point.
But then I hear that something offended you and you allegedly “repossessed” that which you had committed to the community. Is that what happened? And there sits your precious Chubb rotting in your yard. Look, if I’m in error in any of the details, and I can be, let me know and I’ll withdraw or correct and even apologize publicly if appropriate.
Am I right or wrong, Angela?
You stole from your community and now you want to rule it? How does that work? I’d like our money back, Angela. You owe to all those who contributed that which you took back from us in labor and financing. Have you no understanding or shame?
True, since that time, things have changed in our municipal district as to what is permitted for unofficial firefighting. However, that isn’t why we didn’t get to keep the Chubb.
Besides, I’d still keep it on hand to deal with a controllable fire in the few minutes before the Fort MacLeod firefighters arrive, a fire that could go out of control in minutes. I’d use it, illegal or not.
“Stupid is as stupid does.” When one can solve or prevent a serious problem from developing despite “regulations” or general protocol, and doesn’t do it, that person is a legalistic, ignorant idiot.
It’s the very kind of mentality that can be dangerous and tragic on the greater stage. For example, as displayed by Brigadier General Romeo Dallaire who obeyed the UN protocol despite the urgent need for unexpected on-the-spot decision-making and action in wisdom and practicality. He thus enabled an unintended great genocide in Rwanda of some 800,000 Tutsis. This, according to Major-General Lewis MacKenzie and others.
By the way, I spoke to Romeo Dallaire at the Lethbridge airport and he was adamant that he had made the right decisions. He came to that hardness of unreasonableness by being conditioned with small incidents such as ours in early life. So, are our possibly “insignificant” circumstances not worthy of serious consideration?
And we’re finding that today, in this crazy age of anti-Trumpers, we have an overwhelming share of those dreadful, dangerous, dimwit dummies. (Just a digression or unnecessary thought I’d toss in for some excitement.)
Four, Angela, seeing your property was in dire need of attention, I once gently suggested by letter that your home and its location had great potential for improvement, taking it from an eyesore (perfectly true and obvious) to something worthy to behold.
Imagine a Moon River tour bus driver going by your place and announcing to his passengers that the President of Moon River Estates (or for that matter, any one of the executives) lives there. What would the passengers or clients searching for real estate opportunities think of that? Can you imagine? You can guess.
And when I reported you to the M.D. after enduring and capitulating to your wishes, even demands, for a time, observing the mess, nothing happened, except that it only got worse, much worse, as I predicted it would (no prophet needed there).
Your ditch, for which you are responsible, has been filled with incessant, ugly heaps of dog crap where Jimmy would lead your dogs to be relieved. Besides the sight being awful, lined up right to our boundary. Andy and Leah Dormaar’s kids, Stan and Erica Cox’s kids, and others play in the ditches, they ride their bikes in them. They wouldn’t dare make more than one pass in yours.
You shouldn’t be abusing your community’s and the M.D.’s public property in your care that way. You think you can govern the hamlet council when you can’t manage your own yard? If you can’t even manage your own ditch, what makes you think you can wisely make decisions affecting a community? You should know better, but you don’t.
Five, you publicly called me “the Devil,” bad-mouthed me to the community, and even scolded the neighbors for not siding with you against me. Yes, you admitted it and apologized some, for which I thanked and commended you, but seeing you’ve gone no further to reconciliation for many months, I’m supposed to trust you on the board that takes responsibility for my needs and represents me as a member of this community? Say again?
Six, you have issued a letter notice, a first step for legal procedure warning Marilyn and me and anyone to do with us to stay off your property. Here’s the letter:

Victor and Marilyn,
This is your written notice as required by law: To Marilyn and Victor Hafichuck and to any/all residents/family members that reside in/on your property; on behalf of all landowners of this private land at 216 Moon River Dr, Moon River Estates, that you are not permitted access to this land for any reason. No trespassing signs will be put up; any further access on our land from this date forward will be taken as a direct and knowing violation of this no trespassing warning.
There is absolutely no need to respond to this email, in fact any replies or further complications either in email, in person or written form will be forwarded to the appropriate legal channels.

Walter & Adeline Suntjens
As far as I know, the letter stands and I would not permit anyone of our friends or visitors to touch your property, not that we have done or intended any evil or illegality at any time in these past nearly 5 years. You know there was never a cause for your letter, yet you leave it in effect. Have you forgotten? I doubt it. Yet, you conducted yourself with Marilyn at an executive meeting at Dormaar’s before you were dismissed from the executive in May as though we were in good standing with you.
And by the way, this letter was not only from Angela and Jimmy but also from her parents, Walter & Adeline Suntjens. I have something to say to them as well. I once saw Angela do a FB post crediting her father for “making me the person I am today.” You may have made her a good artisan design welder, I don’t know, but I’m not impressed with your handiwork in raising your daughter, adoptive or otherwise, as a decent person. Are you impressed? She seems to be impressed with herself.
Angela, in one fell swoop, you trashed all the goodness coming your way from me. When you first moved here, the long ditch grass on the south side of your property was overgrown. I mowed it, without your asking or permission. That was before you began to relieve your dogs in it. Getting stuck and sliding on the steep, grassy slope, Steve and Marquise saw my dilemma, came forth, pushed me onward, smiled, left and I went on to get the job done. I don’t recall hearing a word about it from you. If I did, excuse this remark.
I partially pointed my borderline sprinkler heads along your dry, thirsting, and dying trees and shrubs, seeing you weren’t watering them. I also pruned some of your greenery crossing our property line to help it out and make it look better for us, too. You didn’t notice or care.
These favors and good gestures were blown away in one harmless phrase of my letter couched among many complimentary ones, but oh, how the selfish, spoiled, narcissistic heart despises well-intentioned, helpful truths, taking them as assaults on one’s dignity, so far as to devour itself, ironically enough. That’s the tragic price the godless heart pays for defending its worthless pride.
I could go on, couldn’t I? I think this is more than ample, testing the patience of some readers and tickling the ears of others with some controversy and substantial gossip material. But mostly, providing godly instruction on both mundane and spiritual matters to those who have a heart for it.
However, there is more I must say. The saga continues to this day. Since Allan Jacobs withdrew from being a director on the executive, Andy Dormaar suggested that they ask you to join as a director, after all. According to the minutes, Annette Tompkins moved to approach you, and my wife, of all people, Marilyn, seconded it.
I thought, “What’s this? God has removed Angela from the executive and now my wife agrees to bring her back? Could it be that this hasn’t been thought through?”
Or is it to prove to you that despite your abuse of us in several ways, we have no ill will toward you? Yes, I’m speaking frank and direct things to you, but you can’t accuse us of ill will because we are speaking the Truth. We do want better things for you and everyone else. You really have nothing to justify being upset with me.
The problem with this humanistic society is that it expects us to be unrealistical, friendly to a fault, not allowing for any objective, honest, profitable, necessary dialogue. Isn’t that why you so despised my very friendly letter (quoted above) to you and were enraged over a tiny portion of it that you took with “grave assault”?
Here I am, having to write you this letter and post it publicly for all to learn the facts and be instructed in the ways of Life. So, much good comes of this event, after all. That’s how God works! He weaves both “good” and “evil” for the ultimate good of all. That’s my God, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Who suffered evil for all our sakes that we might eventually partake of His Glory and Riches. Amazing!
You can also believe and commit yourself to Him. It’s your only hope. No need to despair. He’s anyone’s only True Hope.
I believe that unless there’s an earth-shattering and Heaven-shaking dramatic change, you, with your stance, record, and disposition, should not presume to have the privilege or honor of being an executive of the Moon River Association.
Just who do you think you are? Jimmy boasted that you had or were in the process of getting a PhD. So, that’s supposed to qualify you for leadership and decent standing in society? Marxist Islamist Barack Hussein Obama, without any accomplishment of the smallest value to humanity, and the late Yassir Arafat, a bloodthirsty Jew-hating Marxist Islamist terrorist, one with much blood on his hands, received the Nobel Peace Prize, no less. How incredible, contradictory, and insane is that?
What does that tell you about men’s awards and credentials? We can name thousands of “Doctors” who have nothing to offer humanity. On the contrary, humanity needs to be protected from them. Take “Dr.” Fauci, for a terrible and tragic example. Take for another example, Jordan Peterson and his family who suffer vicious persecution and severe injustice at the hands of a cabal of doctors.
So, what does all this have to do with God, with loving God and neighbor as yourself, the Two Great Commandments? EVERYTHING, that’s all. EVERYTHING, no less.
If I tell you that God has my back and I’m right, and you’ve had a taste of that, then everyone needs to take warning and seriously listen up. If I’m wrong, nobody needs to pay me any attention; no worries. Not saying you’re right; just saying if I’m not right. But I provide you with evidence, much evidence to substantiate my declarations. What do you all have?
None of you must listen to me. Perish, as you wish. Frankly, I’ve come to a place where I don’t give a damn. Do what you will and we’ll soon see who’s vindicated. With those who have eyes to see and ears to hear, we have seen it, do see it, and will see much more. God says so.

Victor,
I am addressing this issue, like you said, if you were wrong I should correct you.
Chubb was never removed from the community. Due to liability reasons and requests from officials we couldn’t form an ‘official’ brigade for Moon River but as Paul and Les could tell you, is still on standby to protect Moon River. It is under my ownership but available to those that have trained with it. It is not sitting and rotting, you are again mistaken… just this past year we bought a new tank as the old one suffered a crack after the fire and we improved the mounting system. It is parked out of the way but in a spot that makes it easy to hook onto it and pull out of the yard.
I am not speaking to the rest of the matter in this email. I would be delighted to meet with you to discuss what you’ve said in your post.

Furthermore, Chubb was never given to the community, money was raised to help with the costs of the upkeep and the maintenance and the safety upgrades that were suggested by Les. All of that money went into the rig. There was never anything stating that Chubb would become the communities, I’m sorry that you are confused. The fire trailer and the truck that pulls it are under my ownership, as previously stated. And if you so wish, I will give you $100 so that you feel better about my “taking your money” for your good deed with the strawberries. I do have original paperwork stating that I have received donations and I am sure a search of the Moon River Facebook page will also support my claim. Others donated and did not think they were receiving the fire trailer, so I am sure if you asked some of the residents, they would agree.
As stated previously, I would be more than happy to meet with you.

Victor,
Good evening,
I think emailing and stating the facts about Chubb is more than sufficient, you noted that if you were wrong I should correct you, and you would apologize. Am I wrong to assume that the issue will be clarified/included publicly, as the original post was. If my assumption is erroneous, please feel free to let me know.
I am also busy on and off for the next two weeks, but would be more than happy to find a time that works for you and Marilyn to have a frank conversation about your post and any other pertinent issues. I hadn’t realized that my not reaching out again was going to be taken as an alteration of my intention when we had our original discussion.
Shall I email again at the start of the year and see what your availability is like (Maybe the first or second week of January)? Let me know if that works and I will follow up.
Angela.

I would like to post all of this correspondence at the Monocle, including my replies. I’ll be glad to correct any misinformation or misunderstanding and apologize. It’s only right to do so publicly as with the original post. Thanks, Angela.
When you’re free to meet with us to discuss the rest, email me and we can set up a time. I don’t mind meeting in person. I think that would be important; however, I would also like to correspond by email or Monocle so that there’s a record for useful and important reference.
If you wish, I can answer on the Chubb or anything you’ve said here for starters, and we can cover the rest as arranged. That would be great.

Good afternoon,
I would very much appreciate you addressing the misinformation about Chubb and apologizing on the Monocle. I agree with you, it’s only right to do so publicly.
Another further addition, while you seem to have stated that I didn’t do much for the community during my (admittedly) short term as president, I am informing you that it was me who approached the MD and got the blue location signs for every residence because it increased visibility of addresses for first responders. I also went Claresholm and approached the MD about the water issue with members of the board. Not that I need that to be known, but I thought it prudent to mention that I did do things.

Angela, you have me there about the Chubb. I’m glad you clarified things. I had heard from someone that there was a lively disagreement between you and the firefighters, you being upset about something that happened, that they did, or “should have done” while working with the water wagon.
I was easily persuaded of the nature of the story due to the experience I’d already had with your disposition and entirely unwarranted violent reaction on my very doorstep to my letter to you. And I hadn’t heard of any resolution between y’all concerning the water wagon.
I had no direct or definite information or confirmation of anything. I listened to that one side of the story from one person, believed it, went with it, and here we are. Not entirely good. I don’t know what occurred and how for sure, and I spoke. True or not, my bad. For that, I apologize.
You know the whole truth of what all happened. The men know the whole truth of what happened. I feel no need to persuade anyone of something, even if true. I’ll leave that with y’all. Without confirmation of anything, either way, I apologize here and now.
If anyone wants to verify, confirm, or add to this, you’re welcome to do so at this page of the #18 post in the comments section provided. On my part, lesson taken and remembered.
The point is whether the MR community still had free access to the Chubb after investing in it with the same agreement that you and the firefighters had when the deal was first struck.
If the Chubb is freely and capably “in use” by the community, sitting still or “fired up,” keep my money and everyone else’s donations. Who cares? Nobody. What matters more is the principle of the thing.
But something did happen, didn’t it, Angela?
As to the water wagon, I used figurative language for the most part when I said, “And there sits your precious Chubb rotting in your yard.” Yet, the possibility and likelihood of the literal meaning can’t be ignored. Time and elements take their toll.
You can’t blame me for doubting your storage or maintenance methods when the condition of your entire property is considered. For one small example of many, take the vehicle with flat tires that’s been in your driveway for as long as I can remember. You well know that everything in your yard screams neglect and deterioration. How do you argue with that? The Chubb is part of the whole.
If the water wagon is still in operation, I have some suggestions for storage. One, block it up to save the tires, and two, cover it to save the tank and all vulnerable parts from deterioration by the elements. After all, you want it in efficient operating condition and ready to go when the crisis comes.
But the Chubb isn’t the issue in any case. You know that, and are straining out gnats while swallowing a camel. Your pride and sin are the issue. You are deflecting the focus onto me. I was hoping for better things from you, but it isn’t happening, is it?
Angela, this isn’t at all about correcting technicalities as you require of me. It’s about a change of attitude and doing the right. There’s a great difference between mistakes and wrong, like night and day. You fault me for mistakes to deflect the necessary attention on your wrongness.
However, “hope springs eternal,” as Pope wrote. Let’s try to move in the right direction before God and neighbor. When the will and morality are engaged, technicalities will take care of themselves.
Till we hear from you again,
Victor

Angela, I’ve addressed the Chubb issue. As to the activities you refer to in this letter, you won’t find me referring to your first year as president. I was only speaking of this last year in office when you were vice president.
Concerning the location signs, I had heard that Janice Amann was taking credit for bringing them in. Perhaps it was her idea, she brought it to the MRE and y’all requested the signs from the M.D.. No matter. I wasn’t talking about your first year in the MRE. That also goes for the water issue.
